"Níl aon rud níos fearr ná lá ar an trá,
Na tonnta ag snámh, ’s gach rud go breá,

An farraige ag oscailt mar bhéal an domhain,
Teidí, Áine, ’s Mamaí ó Ard na hAbhann,

There’s nothing better than a day at the beach,
And the world’s biggest sandpit just within reach..."

This bilingual story was inspired by favourite Irish words selected by children from across Wexford through a series of workshops in libraries during the summer of 2025. It is suitable for ages 5+.
